Fitting in.

When I first started playing guitar I played with a guy who taught me a few things. I remember him playing a particular chord and it sounded horrible, almost like it shouldnt be included in any music. He said that there is no such thing as a bad chord, its all in how you play it. He strummed the chord in a different way and it actually sounded great!

I want to apply this same lesson to photography. My friend said she took terrible photo's but I had her sit down anyway. We were all just having fun and I was playing with some studio lighting at my buddy's place and wanted to experiment. Even though the conventional way of posing didnt work for her, (at least in her mind) we found a way to take amazing pictures that we both liked.

I would like to think this same lesson applies to other places in life. I've never felt like I fit in and I tried extremely hard to do so. It wasnt until I just went to follow my own path did I learn that I was unique for a purpose. Every picture is unique and so is everyone's path. God gave you a key, it fits somewhere.

Take the time to meditate on this and understand where God has you and why.

Family

I want to talk for a minute about family. Jesus said that those who do the will of the Father are your mothers, your brothers and your sisters and I have to sympathize with this. I have a great group of friends that surround me that I do consider to be my family. Everyone plays a vital role in this well oiled machine and nobody is more important than the other.

I remember when I first started to take pictures I said I didnt want to do portraits and take pictures of people. I have had that changed for me in the last few months thanks mostly in part to my friends. I cant help by capture the moments around me. I had the opportunity to take pictures of a friend and his family who was visiting from out of town. It was well worth waking up for the sunrise to share the food of life.

Your family is probably the most influential element in your life. Its the biggest aspect of your environment and our environment has a major influence in our life. In fact it changes us rather quickly. This is why we need to surround ourselves with those of equal yoke and those of good influence. What more can be said of family? Please feel free to share.

Take It To The Streets.

Theres a lot of people who are in need of love and need of the things that love brings. Why are we relying so heavily on the goverment to bring healthcare and to care for those that are in need? Christians are supposed to bring the love and care to those that are in need. We all have a neighbor in need and its our duty as a Christian to take care of them, not just an option that we have. I will skip the scriptures that spell it out for us in black and white.

Take It To The Streets is a non-profit Christian organization that does what Jesus told us to do. www.takeittothestreetsministry.org is the website and I would like to invite you to come out to volunteer at any of the events that take place, you will see God work in so many ways and will have a changed perspective.

First Post.

In keeping with progress I am starting up an official photoblog to keep everyone up to date on whats going on.

To most people they just look at a picture and think little of it past what emotions it evokes inside of them. I see it as much more than just a pretty picture. For me I see a picture as a representation of the photographer, almost like a window into the sould or a type of fingerprint.

I believe that one good photo can change the world. What kind of photo will it be? Will it be one photo or the right combination of photos viewed by the right person at the right moment? I dont think that the proper composition and all the other technicalities of a photo is what is necessary to make a picture great. There has to be a personal aspect to it that grabs you and makes it genuine. This is where having the right camera equipment and knowledge of Photoshop becomes obsolete.

I want people to be involved in what goes on, its a living organism. The projects that are planned cannot come to life without the help of others. Be involved, sign up for email updates and stay up to date with projects and photos.
